How to do it
- 1Verify your identityOnce, for everything. Colombia is open to verified customers anywhere outside the EU and EEA.
- 2Turn Colombia onUnder Verification, press Turn on next to Colombia. Our partner approves it from the verification you have already done.
- 3Add a Bre-B key or a bank accountUnder Bank accounts: a Bre-B key, or a Colombian account with its bank, account number, and the holder's ID document and mobile. Yours, or that of somebody you are paying.
- 4SellChoose COP, pick the account, and send your USDC from your wallet. An auto-convert address can pay the same account automatically.
Colombia has two rails and you choose by what you add: a Bre-B key, the new instant scheme run by the central bank, or a bank account by its bank, number and the holder's ID. Both usually land within minutes. A very large Bre-B payout is sent as a bank transfer by our partner on its own, so you never have to split one.
Common questions
- Do I have to live in Colombia?
- No. Any verified customer outside the EU and EEA can pay out in Colombian pesos — to their own Colombian account, or to a contractor or supplier there.
- Can I buy USDC with Colombian pesos, or get a COP deposit account?
- Not on Rampy. Colombian pesos are for payouts only — selling, or an auto-convert address paying out. To be paid from abroad, open USD or EUR bank details in your own name.
- Which coins can I sell for pesos?
- USDC, and PYUSD on Ethereum or Solana. USDT and EURC cannot be paid out in Colombian pesos: swap them to USDC first.
- Does it have to be in my name?
- No. Your own account, in the name you are verified under, or somebody else's — a person or a business you are paying. For somebody else's, you give their name and address when you add the account, and each payment to them has a limit, lower while the account is new; the app shows it before you pay.
- What fees does Rampy charge?
- A buy or a sell is 1.99% + 1.99 below 500, then 0.99% + 1.99 from 500 of the amount you send — pounds on a buy, the stablecoin on a sell. A swap is 0.5% of the amount, with no flat fee. A deposit account or an auto-convert address is 1.99% with no flat fee, which is cheaper than an order below about 500 and dearer above it. The pricing page shows the figures by amount.
- Is Rampy custodial?
- No. Stablecoins are sent to a wallet address you control, and money is paid out to the bank account you choose — yours, or somebody you are paying. Rampy is designed so that customer assets are not held by Rampy.
- Why do I need to verify my identity?
- Because money is moving between a regulated banking rail and a blockchain, and the rules that apply to that require it. Verification runs once, through our payments partner, and covers every product.
